Parkinson's

Do you know someone with Parkinson's?

Do you have any hints about how to ease symptoms?

Do you know of diets that help with symptoms?

Are there any appliances that can make things easier?

    1. Thanks for sharing link, Linda. Familiar with this utensil but it is pretty costly. Worth it, though.

  4. I have read somewhere that physical exercise helps. Plus there's a new movement (saw this on the news) where people with Parkinson's go to boxing classes -- sounds crazy but apparently it does help to control/ease symptoms.

    1. Boxing classes sounds weird but I have heard that walking to music is a good way to exercise.

  5. I don't know anyone. Hopefully you can find some good resources from some fellow bloggers or online. I have read that music therapy seems to help people with dementia but I don't know if that will work with Parkinson's. Best of luck in getting some answers and take care.

  6. My friend's Dad has Parkinson's as does my Aunt who is 96. She is virtually bedridden, he is not. Will look up some things for you. Is this person ambulatory?

  7. A very good friend of mine's father has Pakinson's and so does my sister-in-law's father. I know both these elderly men are on medication but I'm not sure what else is helping them. But both seem to be pretty stable.

  8. in my native town when i was almost six there lived man near our house who's both hands were constantly shaking and it made me scare in beginning but when i became little elder like eight i used to stare and observe deeply his hand and try to copy that time i did not knew that it was a disease according to grandma he was very cruel to his children and used to beat them badly so God punished him.
after many years in ninth grad i studied about it and knew it was a disorder

  10. Liftware.com-for special feeding utensil
will look up special recliner that brings a person to standing position and other websites for assistive things for dressing, bathing, etc. Best advice is to find an occupational therapist and Physiotherapist who can help, too.

  11. Therapyboy.com offers information on lift chairs (recliner that lifts to sitting and standing position) from POV of occupational therapist and other devices, also contact National Parkinson's Association for information/resources. Will look up whatever else I can for you if necessary. Let me know.

    1. Thank you for your information. Good idea about asking an OT to come to the house. That would probably really help.
