A to Z Challenge 'X'

A to Z 2017 Theme: Rocks to Throw At A Hero Who Is Up A Tree!

Robin Carr, a well-published author describes a talented author as "someone who chases her hero up a tree and then throws rocks at her."

I have to be honest. X-rocks scares the hell out of me.

So, I'm going with Science Fiction on this one.

Our hero (and Earth, of course) are threatened by X-rays from outer space.
As is typical in most Science Fiction, the relationships are not Xenial, the aliens did not receive the memo that Earth cannot be defeated; too many pesky humans!

The X-rays effects on Xeonosaurus lizards of Mexico are

The hero defeats the aliens with Xenolith she discovered while climbing a granite rock.
(It could happen!)

I tried to imagine how a Xylography could be a rock, and maybe, if our hero is X-tremely clumsy, she could cut herself on some primitive whittling tool and get an infection in which her thumb would become Xanthous.  I found that to be too 'ew'!

Then, again, speaking of 'ew', I thought maybe the writer would make the  book a modern day novel in which a Xenophobic narcissist turns a Democratic republic into the laughing stock of the planet but that just seemed to much of a stretch! How could that happen?

Being a total Xenophon, I must end this post to continue to eXamine my life as Socrates advises.
