On The Lighter Side

The evening of our evacuation, many vehicles needed gas to leave the area. People were cutting each other off, intimidating little cars with larger vehicles. It was totally insane.

My great-granddaughter is a powerhouse of self-confidence.

She was sitting in the back seat of her daddy's truck while they waited patiently for their turn at the pumps knowing they had to empty truck and get back to my house and help us. Just as they were ready to pull in a smaller car squeaked in to their space.

Four year old Miss B leans towards the jerk and yells out the window, "Don't make me get out of this truck!"

  2. Hi Toni - she is one powerhouse ... but I'm glad some people were being respectful ... people are incredibly selfish. I do hope the fire is being contained somewhat - terrifying situation ... take care - Hilary

    1. Fire is growing at a much slower rate and containment lines are getting bigger. Yes, some people are incredibly selfish, but I think, for the most part, it was an urgent sense of survival for many of them. For the most part, I community is rising to the challenge and really coming together.

You've been on my mind. I hope that you are doing okay. Grieving is such a roller coaster of good days and bad.
